Compassionate Cat Rescue in the Heart of Tirunelveli

WhiskerHope Cat Rescue was founded in 2018 by a group of passionate animal lovers in Tirunelveli who saw a growing need for organized feline rescue and welfare services in the region. What started as a small backyard shelter has blossomed into a full-fledged rescue and rehabilitation centre that has saved over 2,500 cats and kittens across Tirunelveli district and beyond. Our team works tirelessly to give every rescued cat a second chance at a happy, healthy life.

We believe that no cat should suffer from abandonment, injury or neglect. Our rescue team responds to calls from Palayamkottai, Melapalayam, NGO Colony, Vannarpettai and the surrounding areas to rescue injured, sick and abandoned cats. Every cat that comes through our doors receives a thorough veterinary assessment, immediate medical care, proper nutrition and a safe, warm place to recover. We are committed to transparency in all our operations and work closely with local veterinarians and animal welfare organizations.

Education is a core pillar of our mission. We conduct community outreach programs in schools, colleges and residential areas to teach responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and humane treatment of street cats. By empowering the local community with knowledge, we aim to reduce the number of stray cats that end up suffering on the streets of Tirunelveli. Our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiative has already sterilized over 1,800 community cats, significantly improving their quality of life.

Our adoption program is designed to match each cat with the perfect forever home. Every potential adopter goes through a thorough screening process to ensure they are ready for the lifelong commitment of cat ownership. We provide pre-adoption counselling, post-adoption support and follow-up visits to ensure that both the cat and the family are thriving. Our goal is not just to find homes for cats, but to create lasting, loving bonds between humans and their feline companions.
