PawRaksha Foundation – Saving Lives in Goregaon West, Mumbai
PawRaksha Foundation was born out of a deep love for animals and a pressing need to address the growing stray dog crisis in Goregaon West, Mumbai. What began as a small group of volunteers feeding street dogs has now evolved into a full-fledged dog rescue organization serving the entire western suburbs of Mumbai. Our mission is simple yet profound: to rescue every injured, abandoned, or neglected dog and give them the medical care, love, and dignity they deserve.
Over the years, we have built a robust network of veterinary partners, foster families, and passionate volunteers who work tirelessly around the clock. Our team responds to emergency calls, conducts regular street surveys, and organizes adoption drives to find forever homes for our rescued companions. We believe that every dog, regardless of breed, age, or background, deserves a life free from suffering and full of unconditional love.
Located in the heart of Goregaon West, our rescue center serves as a safe haven for dogs recovering from injuries, illnesses, or trauma. We provide state-of-the-art medical treatment, nutritional support, and behavioral rehabilitation to prepare them for adoption. Our sterilization and vaccination programs have successfully reduced the stray dog population while improving overall community health and safety.
Education and community engagement form the cornerstone of our approach. We regularly conduct awareness workshops in schools, housing societies, and corporate offices across Mumbai, teaching people about responsible pet ownership, animal welfare laws, and the importance of compassion toward all living beings.
