PawRescue Foundation has been at the forefront of stray animal welfare in Shivaji Park, Mumbai since our humble beginnings in 2016. What started as a two-person rescue operation responding to emergency calls has grown into a full-fledged animal welfare organization with a dedicated team of veterinarians, caretakers, and community volunteers. We have successfully rescued over 4,800 stray animals from the streets of Mumbai, providing them with critical medical care, safe shelter, and a second chance at life.
Our mission is deeply rooted in the belief that every stray animal deserves compassion, dignity, and the opportunity to live a healthy, happy life. We operate a 24/7 emergency rescue helpline that responds to calls for injured, abandoned, and abused animals across Shivaji Park and the surrounding neighborhoods. Our rapid response teams are equipped with specialized animal ambulances, medical supplies, and trained handlers who ensure the safe and humane handling of every animal we encounter.
Beyond rescue operations, we are committed to addressing the root causes of stray animal suffering through comprehensive community programs. Our sterilization and vaccination drives have helped control the stray population humanely while preventing the spread of diseases like rabies. We conduct regular awareness workshops in schools, housing societies, and local communities to foster empathy and responsible pet ownership. In the past year alone, we have sterilized and vaccinated over 1,200 animals and educated more than 3,000 community members about animal welfare.
Our adoption program is the heart of our organization — connecting loving families with rescued animals who are ready for their forever homes. Each animal in our care receives complete medical treatment, behavioral assessment, and socialization before being placed for adoption. We maintain a thorough post-adoption follow-up process to ensure the well-being of every animal. To date, we have successfully facilitated over 950 adoptions, creating happy families across Mumbai and beyond.
