Founded in the historic port city of Thoothukudi, our studio was born from a simple conviction — that old buildings are not obstacles to progress, but living archives of culture, climate and craftsmanship. For more than two decades we have surveyed, documented and restored heritage structures across the Coromandel Coast, from Dutch-era godowns near the harbour to agraharam homes lining the older streets of the city.

Our practice begins with rigorous documentation. Every project is preceded by a measured survey, photographic archiving, material sampling and structural assessment. We use 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry to capture the smallest detail of a carved corbel or a weathered cornice, creating a permanent digital record before a single stone is touched. This evidence-led approach ensures that every intervention is reversible, honest and respectful of the original fabric.

Conservation is as much about materials as it is about methods. Our craftsmen are trained in the preparation of traditional lime mortars, madras terrace roofing, egg-white stucco, Athangudi tile laying and hand-carved granite detailing. Where modern materials are necessary, we select them carefully for breathability and compatibility, so that the building can continue to manage moisture the way it has for generations. In Thoothukudi's salty, humid coastal air, this balance between tradition and technology is critical to long-term survival.

We work closely with temple trusts, family custodians, institutional owners, heritage committees and local authorities. Every restoration plan is presented transparently, with phased budgets, timelines and clearly explained trade-offs.
