About Our Studio
Rooted In Hospet, Designing For The Deccan
Verdant EarthScapes is a landscape and environmental architecture practice based in Hospet, Karnataka, working at the meeting point of built form and living ground. Founded on the belief that a building is only half finished when its foundations are poured, we treat the open land around every structure as a design brief in its own right — soil, slope, wind, water and sunlight all have a vote in what we draw.
Our studio operates across Hospet, Hampi, Ballari, Koppal and the wider Tungabhadra belt. The region's granite outcrops, iron-rich earth and long dry spells have shaped a design language that is unapologetically local: hardy native species, deep mulch beds, shaded thresholds and water harvested where it falls. We do not import a palette from somewhere else and force it onto this land — we read the site first, then design.
Every commission begins with a full environmental audit of the plot, including topography, drainage lines, existing vegetation, soil composition and microclimate. That data becomes the backbone of the landscape master plan, the planting schedule, the irrigation layout and the hardscape detailing. Clients receive drawings, species lists, quantity estimates and a phased execution timeline — not a mood board that never reaches the ground.
We work with villa owners, resort developers, educational institutions, industrial campuses and municipal bodies. Our scope stretches from a 400 sq. ft. terrace garden in a Hospet apartment block to multi-acre campus landscapes where rainwater harvesting, biodiversity corridors and pedestrian movement must all be resolved on one drawing. Each project carries the same discipline: build for the climate, build for maintenance reality, and build for the next generation.
What sets Verdant EarthScapes apart is continuity. The team that surveys the site is the team that supervises plantation and the team that returns each season for review. Landscapes are not handed over — they are raised. That long view is why our work in Hospet continues to look better in year ten than it did on handover day, and why most of our new projects still arrive through the recommendation of an old client.
